About the Merge PDF
Combine any number of PDFs into a single document, arranged in the order you choose. Drop the files in, drag them into position, and download one merged file. The entire merge happens inside this page using your own device — no upload, no queue, no account, and no watermark on the result.
Order is the part most tools get wrong. Files chosen from a folder arrive in whatever sequence the operating system hands over, which is rarely the order you want, and a merged document with its sections shuffled is worse than no merge at all. So the set here is arranged before anything runs: move any file up or down, remove one you added by mistake, or sort the whole set by filename — and the sort understands that page2 comes before page10, which a plain alphabetical sort does not.
Each page is copied across with the resources it depends on: its fonts, its images and its annotations. That matters because the naive approach — moving page objects between documents without their dependencies — produces a file that opens perfectly well and renders blank. Bookmarks and form fields are the one genuine limitation; those live in document-level structures that cannot be meaningfully combined, and they are dropped rather than half-carried.
There is no page limit beyond what your device can hold, and files stay on it throughout. If you are merging something confidential — contracts, medical records, financial statements — that is the whole point: the document never travels, so there is no server copy to trust anybody with.
How to use the Merge PDF
-
Add your PDFs
Drop the files onto the box or click to choose them. You can add more at any point before merging, and the same file twice if you genuinely need it twice.
-
Put them in order
The list shows the order the merged document will follow, top to bottom. Use the arrows to move a file, the cross to remove one, or Sort by name to arrange the whole set at once.
-
Merge
Press Merge PDFs. Each file is read and copied in turn, so a large set shows progress rather than appearing to freeze.
-
Download
The merged file appears below with its page count. It is named after your first document, so a folder of results stays identifiable.
Frequently asked questions
Are my PDFs uploaded anywhere?
No. The merge runs inside your browser using your own device, and no file is ever sent to a server. You can disconnect from the internet once the page has loaded and it will keep working exactly as before, which is the simplest way to confirm it for yourself.
How many files can I merge, and how large can they be?
Up to 50 files at a time, each up to 500 MB. The real constraint is your device rather than any server limit, since the whole document is assembled in memory. A desktop handles very large merges comfortably; an older phone may struggle well before those numbers.
Will the merged file keep my bookmarks and form fields?
No, and this is worth knowing before you rely on it. Page content, fonts, images and annotations all carry across intact, but bookmarks and interactive form fields live in document-level structures that have no meaningful combined form. They are dropped rather than partly carried, because a half-working table of contents is harder to spot than a missing one.
Why are my files merging in the wrong order?
Files arrive in whatever order your operating system supplies, which is often not the order shown in your folder. The list is the authority: it merges strictly top to bottom, so rearrange it with the arrows before merging. Sort by name handles the common case, and it reads numbers properly so page2 lands before page10.
Can I merge a password-protected PDF?
Not directly. An encrypted file has to be decrypted before its pages can be copied, so remove the password first with our Unlock PDF tool and then merge the result. The tool tells you which file was protected rather than failing without explanation.
Does the merged PDF have a watermark or a size limit?
No watermark, no page limit and no sign-up. The output is an ordinary PDF containing exactly your pages and nothing added. There is no paid tier that removes a restriction, because there is no restriction to remove.
